If you are using Internet Explorer 8 or just changed over to IE8 you may be having a problem to see the menus open. To solve the problem please follow these instructions: Open Internet Explorer 8 then go to Tools and click on Compatibility View Settings. Place a tick next to the Display all websites in Compatability View. Then click Close. That will allow you to see the menus open.

Gilders Championships 2009
200 anglers took part in this years Gilders Championships which are sponsored by Pam and Gerry Lees owners of Gilders Tackle, Failsworth
Pam and Gerry put over £2,000's worth of tackle as prizes plus £1,000 in cash. They also provide trophies for the top 4 overall, the ladies and junior winners. The winner picked up £500 plus trophy, 2nd place won £250 plus trophy, 3rd won £150 plus trophy, 4th place won £100 plus trophy. Overall 56 anglers received cash prizes including the top two in each section
For the past few years this event has had some horrible weather, this year was the complete opposite, plenty of sunshine and at times a welcomed slight breeze. The weather provided and excellent day for the anglers and for their fishing. Plenty of fish obliged considering most of the pegs on the complex were used. It was another excellently run championships by Pam and Gerry

For the second year running, the Barbel record has been broken from the Match Lake
On Saturday 21st March 2009 pleasure angler Craig White was fishing the canal section (top end) of the Match Lake
Craig was fishing with ledgered luncheon meat fished tight to the Island
